Free up Space
As you use OneDrive, Sharepoint and Teams, your local computer will gradually fill up with local copies of all the files you have accessed. This is particularly true when using OneDrive to upload lots of videos, photographs or other large files. From time to time you may need to tell the computer to free up space by removing local copies of files that are stored safely in the cloud.
To check how much space OneDrive is using at the moment
Step 1 - Right click on the OneDrive icon in the bottom right of your screen. If you cannot see the OneDrive icon it may be hidden underneath the chevron icon.
Step 2 - Click on Settings
Step 3 - Click on the Account tab
Step 4 - Look at the bottom section titled x Locations are syncing, where x is the number of folders you have synced. Each folder will show you how much is in use.
As a general rule, 5GB or more for a folder is getting on the large side and would benefit from the Free up space steps below.
