Formatting Content

When formatting text within pages you have many different styles that will help you make your content stand out.  All staff should make an effort to keep styling and formatting as consistent as possible across the whole of firefly.

Avoid the use of custom colors, font sizes, bold titles and ALL CAPS titles.

Heading 1 - Should be used for all top level headings on a page.

Sub Headings can be used to highlight sections below a heading 1

Introductory text is a great way of highlighting a paragraph at the top of a page or section to give it extra weight and break up a long block of text.

Normal text should be used for all text where possible, avoid using any headings, bold, italics etc... when writing paragraphs of text.

Code is a great way of using a fixed width font, often used when representing code or data that would look confusing in normal fonts

Quotation is good for highlight a quote or indenting a section of text.

Footnote is a very small style that should be used under pictures or at the end of a section.

Guidance creates a green bar that is great for pointing out positive or notes about a topic.

Highlighting can be used as well for key information.

Important provides a red bar, great for warnings etc...

Prominent is a large dotted box but should be used very sparingly, only consider if the three styles above are not already appropriate.
