Census Data - Pupil Manager
Contacts
- Pupils should have at least one parent/guardian with parental responsibility.
- Parents in HM Forces should have the HM Forces tick box completed in their contact.
Census Tab
All pupils should have the following fields completed:
- Nationality
- Ethnic Category
- Language
- Part-time Status (can set all to No)
To find pupils missing this data, use Query Builder.
In this example we're looking for pupils whose ethnic category is blank.
Once you've found who is missing data, this can be edited individually or using group/batch edit.
N.B. Be careful batch/group editing pupils with multiple languages or nationalities. These are better done individually.
Enrolment Tab
All pupils should have the following fields completed:
- Previous school
- Previous school type
HM Forces
Parents in HM Forces should be marked as such via their contact and via the Census tab. Run a search or export for relevant professions in order to find any that haven't been marked correctly.

Non-British Overseas Pupils (ISC census)
For this question, iSAMS looks for pupils with a non-British nationality AND where all parental contacts live overseas.
If one or more parents has a UK address, the student is considered a UK student, according to the ISC guidelines.
Run a query to find 'non-British' pupils (nationality does not equal British etc).
Check the addresses, for those with the parental responsibility flag, and make sure that those contacts which should have this flag, do, and that there are no records with this flag ticked that are skewing the figures.
