Creating Custom Groups

Custom Groups allow you to organise and manage customised groups of pupils, applicants and staff. These groups can be used for searching, bulk emailing, or updating details.

Creating a Custom Group

There are two ways to create a group:

1. Pupil Manager / Custom Group Manager / Create a New Group


Give your group a name, select a category and then choose whether you would like other users of iSAMS to view or edit the group.  You can apply or disable an expiry date for the group.

Save and you will be prompted to add pupils.


2. Pupil Manager/Current Pupils (Admissions/Applicants)

Bring up a list of pupils using your chosen filters.

Tick the checkbox to the left of their name and go to the pink drop-down.

Select "add to NEW group" or Add to PREVIOUS (existing) Group.




Find and edit groups

In Custom Group Manager, use the small arrows to view the list of groups. Click on the name of the group you wish to work with.

Modify Group Properties - edit the group's details.

Adding pupils to a custom group

When you create and save a group, you will be prompted to add students, but otherwise:

1. Pupil Manager / Custom Group Manager

In Custom Group Manager, use the small arrows to view the list of groups. Click on the name of the group you wish to work with and then Add/ Remove Pupils

Find your pupils using the filters and then "save and add more" or "save and close".



To remove pupils from the group, tick the checkbox to the left of their name on and then "remove selected"

2. Pupil Manager /  Current Pupils (Admissions / Applicants)

Bring up a list of pupils using your chosen filters.

Tick the checkbox to the left of their name and go to the pink drop-down.

Select "add to NEW group" or Add to PREVIOUS (existing) Group.
