MidYIS (Years 7-9) and Yellis (Years 10-11)
This guide is for MidYIS and Yellis data import for years 7-11 baseline testing
There are two separate imports for MidYIS which must be done separately:
- Predictions and Chances - Independent Schools Standardised - Per subject predictions
- Standardised Feedback - Independent Schools Standardised - Verbal, Non-Verbal, Maths etc...
This file is provided pre formated as an XML file and doesn't need to be opened in excel to prepare.
Part 1 - MidYIS (and Yellis) XML preparation
Step 1 - Download and save the two files above from the testing center and save somewhere safe. This is currently: Senior School Teachers -> Academic Information -> Baseline Data - MidYIS
Step 2 - Open the first file and accept the security warnings
Step 3 - Click on Generate File for MIS Import and select XML Format then Tick GSCE and Grades.
Step 4 - Click OK and save the file in the location above.
Part 2 - Import the data into iSAMS
- Open the Tracking module on iSAMS
- Go to External Data tab at the top
- Click on Import External Data
- Chose the external data type as MidYIS
- Choose file and find the first file which should be your Predictions and Chances export
- Click Next Step
- On the Match Subjects - Step 2 Screen, go through the list of Subject Match column and make sure the correct subjects are selected. Common errors included:
- English Literature should be English Literature
- Food Preparation needs to match to Food & Nutrition
- Home Economics needs to match to Home Economics
- All GCSE NI subjects should match to No Subject
- Match Students - Step 3 you need to check non matched students. The quickest way is to check against DOB after typing part of their name.
- Confirm Import - Step 4 fill out the data fields using the screenshots below as guide
- Repeat steps 1-9 above but with the XML file downloaded in part 1. Instead of Independent Grades, enter Independent Scores
