Managing Q&A

Live Q&A is a great tool for allowing your viewers to engage with the presenters.  They can post questions, you can post replies in private or publish the question for others to see.  For best results you should designate someone who has less to present who can keep an eye on the questions as they come in and help announce them when appropriate.

Note that there is around a 20 second delay from the live stream reaching your viewers, make sure you allow adequate time for this when asking for questions.  Give a good couple of minutes to wait for all questions to come in.

Viewing Questions

You can access the Q&A panel by clicking on the Show Q&A button.  For presenters it is in the middle of your screen:

For producers it is in the top right corner.

Managing Questions

As each New question comes in you need to decide how to proceed?

  1. Publish the question - If the question is valid make it visible to all users and indicate that you will discuss this question or reply when appropriate.
  2. Dismiss the question - If it is rude or inappropriate or perhaps a duplicate of another question, you can dismiss it.
  3. Private reply - In some circumstances it may be quicker to just private reply.  However it is better if you publish and then reply so that others can see the reply.

Once a question is published, viewers can like it to add extra weight and presenters can add comments in text if appropriate.

Using Announcements

At the bottom of the Q&A Panel, you can make an announcement.  This allows you to quickly say hi to your viewers or a way for the Q&A Moderator to let people know how much time they have left for questions, or even to deal with notices during technical issues.
