Copilot for Windows
Microsoft Copilot is a new feature in Windows 11 that can help you enhance your productivity and creativity. It is an AI-powered assistant that can answer your questions, summarize content, customize settings, troubleshoot issues, connect across your preferred apps, and take action.
Copilot for Windows is one of many new AI powered tools that are coming to the Microsoft eco system and is an enterprise version of Chat GPT. Others that are coming soon include:
- Cocreator for Paint - AI based image generation inside Paint
- Copilot for Powerpoint, Word, Excel - AI suggestions and tools built into these products to help with formating, design and layout.
- Microsoft 365 Copilot - AI based chat that has access to your data stored with Microsoft and can act accordingly, e.g. "write me a summary of the SMT minutes from last week" or "Summarise my actions from the last teams meeting I had online with xxxxxx"
- Teams Copilot - AI transcripts and summaries of meetings online.
You can interact with Copilot for Windows through voice commands or text inputs, and it can help you with a wide range of tasks, such as:
- Finding information and inspiration for your lessons, projects, and assignments. Copilot can search the web for relevant answers, generate images from your ideas, and provide suggestions and feedback.
- Navigating the operating system and managing your settings. Copilot can adjust your PC’s settings, organize your windows with Snap Assist, and launch your apps with ease.
- Troubleshooting technical issues and optimizing your PC’s performance. Copilot can diagnose and fix common problems, monitor and improve your PC’s health, and update your drivers and software.
Copilot is a smart and helpful feature that can make your teaching and learning experience more enjoyable and efficient. You can use Copilot to get things done faster, easier, and better on Windows 11.
Opening and Using Copilot
To use copilot you can click on the icon next to the start menu in the bottom right of the taskbar on any updated Windows 11 computer.
Once opened you can enter text based prompts to ask it to generate content for you.
