Windows 11 In Place Upgrade

From October 2023 devices assigned to staff will being picking up the Windows 11 update.  This is an essential upgrade for all devices and will dramatically increase the security and management of your devices.  Many staff have already been trailing Windows 11 and the differences between 10 and 11 are very minimal so no training should be required.

How does the upgrade work?

Your device will check for updates every few hours and then download the update whilst you work.  Once ready it will notify you that a major update is ready to install.

Once you start the update it may take 3-4 hours so your device will be out of action at this time!  Choose your upgrade window wisely!

What if I'm not ready?

You have up to 5 days to ignore the upgrade before it will force restart your device and upgrade you automatically.

Can I force it through early?

Yes, use windows updates to check for updates and this will start the download as soon as its ready: Installing Windows Updates
