Contact Types and Contact Locations
Contact Types and Contact Locations are used by iSAMS to define the relationship of the contact to the pupil and the location of that contacts information. It is important that all contacts are entered accurately and with the correct information.
Contact Types
This is the relationship of the contact to the pupil in question. Most commonly this is one of the following:
- Parents, Mother, Father etc...
- Guardians - See linked contacts
- Other contacts such as Auntie, Uncle, Sister, Principle etc...
The contact type must always be the relationship of that contact to the pupil in question
Contact Location
This is the location of the contact you are editing. Unlike the Contact type, this is in relation to the contact. For most contacts this is the "Home" address. When adding a Uncle for example it may be counter intuitive to select "Home" but you are adding the uncles home address.
If a contact has multiple address's or information you must add a new record for that contact and then select the different location, for example a mother may have the following entries:
- Mother (Home) - the mothers home address
- Mother (Work) - the mothers work address and details
- Mother (Second Home or Holiday) - an alternative address for the mother.
Note that Agency should not be used under any circumstances. This will cause issues with firefly and other systems. A Guardian working for an agency should be added as Guardian (Work) and Guardian (Home) if we have personal contact as well as work.
