The Wave
This weekend in Sanderson, the Year 10s hosted a stall for the Summer Fete. People could do Hook-a-Duck or Splat the Rat! It was great fun, but unfortunately, it started raining at some point, so we had to pack up a bit early.
In the afternoon, the Year 9s went to the Wave, an artificial wave pool where people can learn how to surf. Most of them had never surfed before so it was a completely new experience! All the girls had a lot of fun trying to stand up on the board and not falling into the water and some of them turned out to be naturals!
Angela, Y9: “On Sunday I went to a trip with the boarding house and it was amazing! We went to the wave, which is a place where you can learn how to surf and I had so much fun. I learned the basic skills you need to know to surf as it was my first time surfing. I really liked the experience and I hope I can go again and learn a little bit more. I also got the opportunity to spend time with my friends having lots of fun and surfing!”
Gabby, Y9: “The Wave was one of the best experiences of boarding so far and I would love for us to go back so I can improve.”
Evie, Y9: “I had a lot of fun and I hope we can go again. I really enjoyed it because I love to surf during the summer so it was nice to be able to do it in Bristol without a beach as well.”
