Mamma Mia and Bench Ball

On Saturday, the girls in Sanderson watched ‘Mamma Mia’ and enjoyed snacks like popcorn, crisps and hot chocolate. They were all singing, dancing and laughing a lot. According to Aisha, Y9, the movie night was “very fun because [they] got to sing along” and Evie, Y9, said that she “never knows what to do in the evening so it was nice to have an activity” then.

The next day, all Year 9s played bench ball together in the sports hall. They were split into two teams and started off with one player on a bench in the other team’s field. They had to catch the balls their teammates were throwing while the other team tried to block them. If they caught a ball, the girl who threw it got to stand on the bench as well. The goal of the game was to be the first team to have all players on the bench. At the end they got prices. Here is what some of the girls had to say after the game:

Mehalia: “Bench ball was fun because we all had to work together.”

Godiva: “It was really nice, and we all got to bond as a year group.”

Eri: “We got to practice our teamwork and I loved the sweets at the end!”
