- Automatic versioning
- Access files on any device with an internet connection
- Easier control of who can see the file
- Share files with others easily
- Reduce duplication of data and avoid many versions of the same file
- Removes the need to constantly email files back and forward
Important Locations
All shared files are stored in an appropriate "Team" the table below shows the name of some key Teams that store key information all staff should be aware of.
Team | Channel/Location | Purpose |
---|---|---|
All Staff | General | General Admin folders that all staff may need to access or be involved in |
All Staff | Documentation | Documentation that all staff should be familiar with, policies, forms, templates, handbooks and guidance. |
Senior School Teachers | Files related to general Senior School Academic work | |
Department Teams | e.g Maths, English, Estates, Finance | Each academic subject and admin department has their own Team that should be use for all files needed for that department. |
Junior School | Junior School Team for all Junior School admin |
There are many other Teams of which you will be added to as and when needed depending on your role. For example if you start working on UKVI there is a UKVI team dedicated to that work.
Remember to create a file in an appropriate place before you start working in it. That way the correct permissions are in place from the start and you reduce the risk of losing work or forgetting where you saved that file in a rush.
Also remember to give new files proper names before you start working on it so you can find it later!
