Remote Desktop Services

Remote Desktop Services allows key members of staff direct access to their work computer from home.  By doing so they will have full access to all the software and information stored on their workstation.  

Remember not to shutdown your work computer or you will not be able to access it until its turned on again!

There are three stages to getting setup:

  1. Contact IT Services to request access and be given your unique computer name
  2. Create and save your remote desktop connection settings
  3. Open the file and login each time

Setting up your Remote Desktop Connection

Step 1 - download and save the following file onto the desktop of your computer:

Step 2 - Double click on the file to open it

Step 3 - Enter your computer name given to you by IT Services and then click on Show Options

Step 4 - Enter your school username with badminton-edu.local\ in front of it as shown below then click save

If you get stuck with the above steps then IT Services can send you a custom connection file for you.

Connecting

Once setup you can then connect by simply opening the saved file, clicking connect and entering your school password when prompted.

To close the session click on the blue bar at the top of your screen and click the white cross.
